They're good dogs, Brent!
There's something about a hot dog stand that takes me back to my childhood. Unfortunately, most of the sidewalk stands I've eaten at don't meet the standards of my grown-up tastebuds.
Enter the snappy dog. Unlike a lot of vendors who are pouring grocery store bags into that magical damp hot dog compartment, the snappy dogs seem like real sausages and have their own slightly spiced meaty flavor which I quite enjoyed.
There are plenty of free fixins' available as well as some nice paid options (cheese, chili, etc) that I did not take advantage of this time.
The price ($5 at the time) isn't dirt cheap, the dogs are big enough that one is plenty for a quick bite.
Finally, Gary is a super chill dude, friendly and generous with the sauerkraut. -

Drove far to try Gary's dogs, but he wasn't there during his business hours. Called three times on two different days and left two messages, but never a call back. Came back another day on one of his other business hours, wasn't there, again. I'm sure he's great (from all the positive reviews), except I didn't get to try any of his greatness! Am sorely disappointed as I obsess over amazing hotdogs (hence the long drives and the excessive calling) and his reminds me of my favorite : the Windmill in New Jersey State. I hope he's okay, I already feel really bad for giving a negative review against a one man business over a silly hotdog (that happens to be my favorite bad food I get to have only a few times a year!) I wish there was a way to better communicate with his long distance customers when he's not going to show up so there's no wasted time and hearts breaking ....

Fantastic Dogs, delicious, fresh accoutrements, the best sauerkraut, genial great service ...a true throwback. Gary's been at it for over 12 years and we could taste why! We'll definitely go back next time we're in town... and of course buy our wine at Sones Cellars, just next door! What a delicious pair!

Stumbled upon Gary's Snappy Dogs back in October. Fabulous dogs!! Mole sauce for the chili cheese dog yummmmm! Went back a the next month and they weren't there. I hope it was a fluke. I'd like to visit them again on our next trip from the East Bay. Please tell me they are still in business.

Super nice and friendly service with cheap, tasty, and juicy hot dogs!
Call to check where he is if not in his original location.
